Christmas At The Clarks 2011

This is our nativity.

Christmas Decorations.

We enjoyed decorating our Christmas Tree.
Stephanie wanted to make a wreath this year.  She was pleased how it turned out.
Temple Square 2011
Every year we go to Salt Lake and see the lights at Temple Square. We also meet up with one of Stephanie's old college roommates.  In the picture with us is Kandis, her husband, Rob, and their two daughters.

We love walking around looking at the lights.

Opening Gifts.
We opened the gifts we gave each other before we went to see our families. We got a lot of fun things.

Flowers

Yesterday morning Dave and I worked in the yard.  Dave mowed the lawn, and I weeded in the flower beds.  I really enjoy working in the flower beds, and I love to look at all the beautiful flowers that come in many different colors.  I just had to take some pictures of my flowers.  This is a picture of a pink Geranium I have growing in a flower pot.

This is an English Lavender Dave and I planted last spring.  It didn't do very well last summer part of it looked dead.  When fall time came, Dave and I cut out the dead looking part of the plant.  I can't believe how pretty the English Lavender looks this year!

When we bought flowers in May, Dave picked this Osteospermum or African Daisy.  It is growing beautifully.

This is a picture of a Snowcap Shasta Daisy about to bloom.  I can't wait until the whole plant has bloomed.

The second spring Dave and I lived in our home we planted Johnny Jump Up seeds.  Every summer since we planted the seeds they have done really well.

Daylilies- I love this burnt orange color.

Red Orange Poppies next to beautiful purple blooms.

I love these purple flowers; I think they are so beautiful.  I got these flowers as a start from a friend of mine, but she doesn't know the name of this flower.  I wish I knew.

Reunion Fun!

June 24, 2011-  We started our Crane reunion by having a flag ceremony.  All of the boys were so excited to help raise the flag.  We said the Pledge of Allegiance together.  Then Vince spoke to us about the members of our family who have served in the military.

My mom bought fabric markers and pillow cases.  The kids were each given a pillow case to decorate with the markers.  The kids all worked hard to make their pillow cases unique.

After the pillow case decorating activity, we drove up to the orchard and had a picnic together.  After eating, we went for a short walk.

I was in charge of games during the afternoon.  We played Duck Duck Goose, Partner Tag, and Car and Driver.  We then had Wheelbarrow and Three Legged races.  I think the kids had a blast.  The above picture shows my mom, Blake, and Calvin in the background, but Taylie and Savanna are doing really well at the Three Legged challenge.

Daphne, Blake, and Amanda in their flag T-shirts.
My mom made dutch oven chicken and potatoes; it was delicious.  After eating we were all excited to make S'mores!  This is a picture of Dave and I waiting to roast marshmallows.  We love S'mores.

Summer Events

We have had a busy summer so far.  I have been working a lot in our yard.  It is a never ending process.  We planted Marigolds and Dahlias.  The Marigolds are doing great, but the Dahlias don't look very good.  In fact two of them have died.  We also planted Zinnia and Cosmo seeds.  The Zinnias and Cosmos are growing, and we hope to see blooms in a couple of weeks.

Stephanie had surgery on her hand  on June 15th.  She wanted to get it done before school started in August, and she went back to teaching.  On top of having surgery, she and I both got the flu.  It wasn't a very fun week. Stephanie's mom came down to stay with us to help Stephanie while I went back to work.  Because of her hand surgery, Stephanie wasn't able to do all of the things she wanted to during the month of June.  So July should be a very busy month for her.

We spent Father's Day with our families; it was great to visit with them.  We are very lucky to have great fathers who have been good examples to us.  We love and appreciate all they have done for us.

Catch up

We haven't done anything too exciting since our last post.  We celebrated Easter in Idaho.  We were able to see Stephanie's sister that we haven't seen in two years.  She and her family are moving to Oregon.  We also spent time with my family.

This past weekend we went to Brigham City to watch our nieces/nephews in a concert.  They did really well.  They are a talented group of kids.  We realized we forgot the camera when the show was starting.  We do that a lot.

We also have been working in our yard.  I was finally able to mow it for the first time this year.  We hope to plant flowers soon.  We are keeping an eye on the flooding.  Hopefully it doesn't reach us.

Stephanie is almost done with school for the year!  She is counting the days.

That's about all that is going on.  We are going to Park City next week and are looking forward to that.

Concert

At the beginning of the month we went to the George Strait and Reba Concert.  We went with Dave's family. It was a lot of fun, and the concert was great.
